THINGS TO REMEMBER

Dressing up for the play opening night.

The official t-shirt day is the following day, Friday.

Magic time begins at 7:00... people need to be ready by then and in the green room.

bravo!

Tartuffe notes: Sunday 2/22

Act 1
It was very hard to understand anyone at the top of the show. We need more projection and articulation. We’re looking into hanging some curtains in the house to muffle some of the echo.
Orgon: cheat out more as you hear the report from Dorine regarding Elmire and Tartuffe. We can’t see your face most of the time.
Dorine: great projection
ALL: The upper class people need more white on their faces. If you have not already bought “clown white”, that’ll work.
Act 2
Orgon: cross with more purpose as you are calling to Mariane and going toward the archway.
ALL: All actors who have counterparts should be watching the show when their counterpart is on stage.
Dorine: Thanks for fixing the sconce. Always feel free to pick up/move things if you know they’re in the wrong place or have fallen.
Orgon: Good reaction to being tickled.
Act 3
Dorine: We could not hear “been seen dead”.
Mariane and Valere: Some nice moments where you are really showing the style.
ALL: Noone has the right to break character…. You always need to cover, especially when it’s something avoidable.
Tartuffe: I thought you sat in the stage left chair at the top of the Elmire scene.
Damis: hug the wall more when hiding… try to look more like you’re hiding until right before you reveal yourself to the others.
Tartuffe: slow down when talking to Orgon about how bad you are—really role play how terrible you are and manipulate him.
ALL: see me if you want to invite someone to Wednesday’s Preview Night.
Act 4
Tartuffe: you need to cheat out more, the wig is covering your face.
Orgon: project
Tartuffe: good job on “No, you get out.”
Orgon: make sure we hear the lines as your go up the stairs about the attaché case
Act 5
Damis: articulate… it was hard to understand what you were saying
Flipote: why did you miss your entrance?
Valere: enter just a little sooner to give Mariane the flower so that there’s no gap between the line preceeding yours, and you talking to Orgon
Officer: articulate “Follow me at once.”
Laurent: practice taking the wig off Tartuffe
Officers: knock on the door at the curtain call for Dorine to let you in.

MAKE UP KITS
You guys want to get a student make up kit, Hollywood Lights is probably your best bet to get this. If you're in Restoration you want to pick up some Ben Nye 01, a white powder to help whiteify your faces like they would be in Restoration times. For kits, there are Ben Nye ones or Kroylon, our wig master prefers the Kroylon, but I'm sure whatever works. The kits are usually around $15.

Notes and things

GREEN SHEETS
You MUST have your GREEN SHEETS completed and ready to turn in (unless you already have) on FRIDAY otherwise you will not be allowed at rehearsal. Just take a minute at the beg/end of each class, it's not too hard.

The workshop for this Saturday is a no go, we'll be holding it the following Saturday, BUT we still have a WORK PARTY you can all COME TO to help out and play with power tools and build stuff!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!

And just so you know, next week plan on having rehearsal EVERY SINGLE DAY NO MATTER WHAT ACTS YOU ARE IN! We might not need you, but probably will as we have to work problem spots and will really need everyone to come in-no exceptions! If there is some horribly important thing some day next week that there is absolutely no way you can miss, let me know NOW!

(that was supposed to be a la Dr. Nick from the Simpsons...)

It would be much appreciated if ya'll would come to rehershmal tomorrow, that's the Wednesday the 3rd day of February. We need to procure pretty measurements to be used for preening preaching players. In simpler terms-everyone come at le beginning of rehearsal and we'll take your measurements. DO IT!

p.s. sorry about the confusion about the measurements being taken today...

HEY ALL YA'LL

Sorry this is so late, I thought I posted it earlier but apparently Bill Gates messed something up.
So-

EVERYONE needs to come to rehearsal for the first little bit tomorrow-that's monday, so we can get you all measured and wonderful stuff like that. So, please all come and let everyone else know whenever you see them because it is late notice, sorry again.

PREVIEW EVENTS-
We're planning two preview events right now, both on FEBRUARY 11th. The first is an ISC Hot Topics lecture which will be at 2.30 so a few of you would have to get out early. For this Jim was thinking about doing the Marianne Valere Dorine scene, both in modern and in restoration. The second is 8th grade information night, from 6-8pm. We will probably just do the same scene, unless anyone has any ideas for another cool scene we could do. So, please let me know if you would not be available that day for these events, even if you aren't part of the scenes as of now.

See you tomorrow! Tell others about measuring going on at the beginning of rehearsal. Gratci!
